DEPT. OF ELECTRONICS

Department of Electronics

Department of Electronics has come into existence since the inception of the college. Department offers job-oriented full time BSc degree programme which spans in three years. A well qualified array of dynamic faculty makes the department one of the best in the college as well as in the University.

About the program offered

The undergraduate program, BSc Electronics, aims to mould young technocrats and middle level engineers in pioneering the technology. The programme is spread over 3 years/6 semesters and covers the fundamentals as well as recent trends in electronics. Each semester consists of laboratory sessions to give necessary practical expertise. A project work has to be carried out in the final semester which will give a practical industrial exposure to students. The laboratory facilities in the department are one of the best in offering the similar programme and is well appreciated by the alumni as well as University authorities.

MSc Electronics: This program is proposed to start in the college during the academic year 2014-15 and the affiliation process is progressing.

Our Alumni were placed in various research and development institutions as well as in multinational companies like Infosys, Lucent Technologies etc.

PHOTONES- towards technology at the speed of a photon

A multifaceted organisation, PHOTONES under the auspices of the department is functioning from the year 2003 onwards. This organisation is a hub for knowledge sharing, career development, extension activities, project implementation, personality development etc. Each member is a photon-a packet of energy, which re-channelizes energy for the enrichment of the campus through various activities. Some of the activities of the PHOTONES were:

  • HAM radio workshop
  • Seminar on power generation, distribution and transmission
  • Exhibition on various electronic projects
  • One day workshop for higher secondary students on PC hardware and assembling
  • Seminar on Embedded System Design
  • Debate on various topics
  • Video lectures by internationally reputed Professors like Walter Lewin of MIT
  • Film show
  • Super Brain Contest
